Fly in an ex American air force trainer the Boeing Stearman. Designed in the 1930's this biplane is a true vintage machine. Originally designed to train US and Canadian pilots to fly before being dispatched to war, the Stearman is now a much loved and desired vintage aircraft. Much larger than it's European cousin, the Tigermoth.
With a huge 9 cylinder 220hp radial engine up front, the noise and smell is wonderful as the air rushes past, while flying in this open cockpit vintage aircraft. Look out over the side of the open cockpit for great views as you cruise along at 100mph with you vintage pilot instructor. Have the opportunity to take control of the Stearman and try your hand at being that 'silk scarfed' 1940's student. If the weather is suitable the pilot will ask if you would like to try a loop the loop and barrel roll!

Participants Requirements For the Vintage Stearman 20mins Flying Experience
- Flying experiences are subject to weight and height restrictions.
- Maximum height 6' 5", maximum weight 19 stone.
- All flying experiences are suitable for guests aged 12 years old and over.
Location and Availability of the Vintage Stearman 20mins Flying Experience
- Old Buckenham (Norfolk).
- Flight time is 20 minutes. Allow up to 1 1/2 hours at the airfield.
- Flying is available all year round.
Spectators
- Your friends and family are welcome to come along with you and most of our airfields have good snack facilities.
PLEASE NOTE
- Flying is totally weather dependant, so inclement conditions or bad visibility will cause the postponement of your flight, but don't worry as we will reschedule it for as soon after as is practical.
